The Formula
If + Past Perfect, ... Would Have + Past Participle
Actual Past: She didn't study. She failed.
Conditional 3: If she had studied, she would have passed.
Wishes (Past)
Expressing regret about the past using "Wish" or "If only".
- Formula: Wish / If only + Past Perfect.
- Example: "I ate too much." -> "I wish I hadn't eaten too much."
